18 Mar CLL – delivering service and solutions with Robur Attachments
CLL Service and Solutions have been purchasing couplers from Robur Attachments for the past 12 months, and we caught up with them recently to see how things have been going.
CLL’s core business is focussed on making their client’s life simple by sharing their knowledge of construction systems and maintaining high standards across communication, safety and workmanship. And they’re clearly getting it right, as their business continues to grow each year.
We met with Alan Marychurch, Procurement Manager for CLL to understand a little more about what makes their business so successful, and how Robur Attachments have been able to help.
CLL provide specialist services and solutions across a number of industries and projects, from civil construction to drainage, foundation work and ground stabilisation. But it’s their wealth of knowledge and experience that means they are also able to support more innovative projects and find solutions to make their customer’s job easier. Some of the projects they have worked on include buffer pilings at Lyttleton Port, ground improvements for Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant, and foundation and retaining work for the new Broadway Newmarket Shopping centre to name just a few.
With a fleet of 22 excavators, having the right attachments for the job is crucial, and when you are dealing with drilling piles with a diameter of over 5m, and more than 15m deep, the attachments need to be tough, get the job done, and they need to last. Having used a variety of attachments in the past, CLL have developed a pretty good idea of the type of hitch they need, and they worked with the design engineers at Robur Attachments to produce a hitch that meets all their requirements.
Safety is also critical, and CLL require all of their hitches to be triple-locking to ensure the safety of their operators and machines. The Robur Tilt Couplers were used on several machines and proved successful, delivering power and reliability.
CLL are now working on upgrading the hitches across the fleet to the Robur Tilt Coupler. “The Robur quality has stood up to what we do and we’re very happy with the products we receive. We have a set of very specific requirements for our orders and Robur have been great working with us on these. We really appreciate the assistance we receive to get attachments that work” according to Alan.
When it comes to service, CLL have been happy with the response they have received from the Robur team. “There has been the odd issue, and the (Robur) team have stepped in to get things fixed, both when it was our issue and when it was not”.
And ordering has been simple, usually a quick phone call gets things underway, and the products are delivered when and where needed. Robur Attachments have also been supplying wear parts to CLL, keeping their attachments working at their best. In addition, Robur have refurbished a few existing buckets for CLL.
While manufacture and supply of new attachments is the focus for Robur Attachments, they are also able to carry out refurbishment and repair work on all makes of attachments, giving a new lease on life to those older buckets and couplers.
CLL are also extremely proud of their safety and quality measures. They are ISO accredited, and operate their environmental and supply processes to ISO standards. When it comes to safety, there is no room for error and CLL hold their suppliers to these same high standards. They require suppliers to have appropriate checks and measures in place, documented processes and traceability, and Robur have been able to meet these requirements.
